Kultūras īpatnības , tulkojot Marka Adamsa grāmatu 'Turn Right at Machu Picchu'

Abstract

Līdz ar pieaugošo literāro tekstu daudzumu, kas ienākuši no atšķirīgām kultūrvidēm un izceļas ar augsto sarežģītības līmenī leksikā, struktūrā un saturiskā ziņā, tulkotājiem nepieciešams uzlabot pieeju sarežģītu orģināltekstu tulkošanā, lai nodrošinātu augstas kvalitātes tulkojumus. Darba mērķis ir pētīt sarežģītu orģināltekstu tulkošanu un noteikt labāko pieeju un galvenos tulkošanu ietekmējošos faktorus. Analīzei tika izvēlēta Marka Adamsa grāmata Turn Right at Macchu Pichu, kurai tulkojumu nodrošināja pētījuma autore. Rezultāti rāda, ka galvenie tulkošanu ietekmējošie faktori ir darba pasūtītāja norādījumi, noteicošais tulkojuma teksta veids un mērķis. Darba autore secināja, ka sarežģītu orģināltekstu tulkošanā piemērotākā ir mērķorientētā pieeja tulkošanai un idiomātiskā tulkošanas metode. With the growing number of literary texts from different cultural backgrounds and their considerable lexical, structural and semantic complexity, translators need to enhance their approach to translating complex source texts to ensure renditions of high quality. The purpose of this thesis is to study the process of translating complex source texts and find out the best approaches and main influencing factors. Turn Right at Macchu Pichu by Mark Adams, translated by the author of the present paper, was selected for the analysis. The results show that the main factors to consider are the commissioner’s instructions, prevailing text type and skopos of the target text. The target-oriented approach and idiomatic translation were determined as the most appropriate to translate complex source texts.
