Izdevumu satura atklāšana augstskolu bibliotēku elektroniskajos katalogos

Abstract

Bibliotēku elektroniskajos katalogos ir plašas datu apstrādes iespējas, kas ļauj atklāt arī izdevumu saturu, lai lietotāji varētu izvēlēties atbilstošākos izdevumus. Pētījumā uzmanība pievērsta tam, vai konkrētu Rīgas augstskolu bibliotēku elektroniskajos katalogos tiek atklāts izdevumu saturs. Noskaidrots arī studentu viedoklis par izdevumu satura atklāšanu augstskolu bibliotēku elektroniskajos katalogos. Pētījuma rezultāti norāda, ka izdevumu saturs un tā izmantojamība ir vērtība, ko nepieciešams norādīt. Tomēr ne visi satura atklāšanas elementi, ko lietotāji norāda kā nozīmīgus, tiek pietiekami atklāti ierakstos. Rezultāti liecina, ka šobrīd respondentiem satura atklāšana palīdz nepieciešamo izdevumu izvēlē, taču respondenti nenoliedz, ka satura atklāšanu varētu pilnveidot, un tā plašāka atklāšana ietaupītu laiku izvēloties izdevumu.

Library electronic catalogs offer a wide range of processing options that allow revealing the document disclosure so users can select the most suitable document. The study focuses on whether the electronic catalogs of certain academic libraries in Riga reflect the content of documents. The students' opinions on content disclosure in electronic catalogs of academic libraries are found out. The research results indicate that the content of documents and the usability of it is a value that should be stated. However, not all elements of content disclosure identified by the users as significant are adequately disclosed. The results show that the majority of respondents view the disclosure is sufficient for choosing the document, but they do not deny that content disclosure could be enhanced, and that would save time in selecting the document.
