Islandes perspektīvas iestāties Eiropas Savienībā

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā tiek apskatītas Islandes perspektīvas iestāties ES, skatot ES valdību oficiālos viedokļus, dalībvalstu oficiālos viedokļus, kandidātvalsts valdību oficiālos viedokļus un gan dalībvalstu, gan kandidātvalsts iedzīvotāju viedokļus. Darba pamatā ir trīs integrācijas teorijas, kas skata situāciju no pārnacionālā un nacionālā līmeņa – neofunkcionālisms, starpvaldību teorija un konstruktīvisms. Bakalaura darba centrālā problēma tiek ietverta darba hipotēzē - Islandes perspektīvas iestāties ES ietekmē ES dalībvalstu pozīcija attiecībā uz Islandes pievienošanos ES, nevis Islandes pilsoņu attieksme pret iestāšanos, tādējādi nosakot, kam ir noteicošā loma iestāšanās procesa gaitā, un vai kādam no šiem faktoriem ir potenciāla iespēja apturēt Islandes pievienošanos.

The Bachelor's paper examines Iceland's prospects of accession to the European Union by considering the official stances of Member States, their governments, the candidate country's government, and the people's views in both - Member States and the candidate country. The paper is based on three integration theories that view the situation on a supranational and a national level – neofunctionalism, intergovernmental theory and constructivism. The central issue of the Bachelor's paper is included in the research hypothesis – Iceland's prospects of accession to the European Union are affected by the EU Member State's stance towards the accession, rather than the views of the citizens of Iceland, thereby determining the key factors during the accession process, and if any of these have the potential to hold back Iceland from joining the EU.
