Abstract

Šis pētījums tiek veikts par Apvienoto Nāciju Organizācijas rīcībā esošajiem instrumentiem cīņā ar iekšējiem konfliktiem. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, vai Apvienoto Nāciju Organizācijas rīcībā esošie instrumenti ir piemēroti valstu iekšēju bruņotu konfliktu, kuri apdraud starptautisko drošību, risināšanai. Darbā tika izpētīts bruņotu konfliktu koncepts, Apvienoto Nāciju Organizācijas rīcībā esošie instrumenti, kā arī tika veikta gadījumu analīze. Izpētes rezultātā autore secina, ka Apvienoto Nāciju Organizācijas rīcībā esošie instrumenti ir piemēroti valstu iekšēju bruņotu konfliktu risināšanai, jo Statūti ļauj instrumentiem būt elastīgiem un instrumenti ir piedzīvojuši pārmaiņas atbilstoši pārmaiņām konfliktu raksturā.

This research paper focuses on the United Nations’ instruments in regards to solving intrastate conflicts. The aim of the research is to study whether the United Nations’ instruments are appropriate for resolving intrastate conflicts which are threatening international security. The paper contains of three parts. The theoretical part covers the concept of armed conflicts, the second part summarizes the instruments available to the United Nations and the third part introduces two case studies. The author concludes that the instruments available are appropriate for solving intrastate conflicts due to that the Charter allows the instruments to be flexible and the instruments have developed together with the changes in the nature of armed conflicts.
