dc.description.abstract | Central task for Master thesis is to analyse German and French energy policy, to answer the question about the extent to which the nation-state has the ability to determine EU policy agendas for renewable energy sources. The main problem is author’s belief that the influential EU member states affect common EU policies, in order to make them to resemble more to their national interests. Liberal intergovernmentalism theory was used for theoretical approach in combination with a comparative method to prove the statement. In concluding remarks author acknowledges that for renewable energy sources there are no countries that could determine the interests of the EU, because EU institutions are independent and national policies between countries are too different.
