Diplomdarba mērķis ir noskaidrot kādā veidā 1991.gada barikādes Rīgā iespaidoja Latvijas neatkarības atjaunošanu un tās pasniegšana 9 klasei. Tēma ir aktuālā, ņemot vērā to faktu, ka tas notika nesen.
The main aim of the Diploma Paper is to find out how the Riga Baricades of year 1991 affect the restoration of Latvian independence and to find ways of teaching this topic in Form 9.
This is topical, taking into account the fact that it happened recently. Therefore, it is very important to continue to strengthen the Baltic country road to freedom. So that people will always remember how our current freedom was recovered back.
Children also have to remember that nationality does not matter, we all are people who want to live in peace and to be independent.
The Paper suggests the theoretical material about the Baricades, as well as the ideas about teaching this topic at school in Form 9. The great aspect was put on source analysis to enable students to compare the information in both Russian and Latvian press.
Students learn to work with sources to be able to distinguish what is fact and what is the conjecture . Also they need to be able to compare different opinions and answer questions.
