The current research is investigating the emotional and behavior problems and the employability of the unemployed (n=137) and the employed (n=106).
T-test results of the aligned groups of the unemployed (n=31) and the employed (n=31) do not indicate the statistically significant differencies of the emotional and behaviour problems (Achenbach Adult Self report, DSM orientated scales (Achenbach & Rescorla, 2003, adaptation in Latvia-Amoliņa, 2010) and the factors of the employability between the groups, except the optimism at work factor from the Dispositonal Measure of Employability, (DME), ((Fugate & Kinicki, 2008, adaptation in Latvia – in this master thesis) was significantly lover among the group of unemployed.
Spearman correlation anlysis among unemployed (n=137) show the statistically significant negative relationship between the emotional and behavior problems and the factors of employability. Results support the evidence from previous research that there are positive correlations between the emotional and behavior problems and both- the lenght of unemployment and the frequency of the status of the unemployed, as well as the negative correlations between the factors of employability and the lenght of unemployment and the frequency of the status of unemployed.
Logistic regression forward method analysis of the dependent variable the (current) status of the employment in the total research pool (N=243), show that the status of the employment is positively predicted by carrer focus factor (Work and life attitude survey (Warr, Cook, Wall, 1979, adaptation of factor in Latvia – in this master thesis ), but negatively predicted by attention deficit hyperactivity problems (Achenbach,DSM orientated scale).
Linear regression stepwise method analysis of the dependent variable the lenght of the unemployment in total research pool (N=243) indicate, that the lower degrees of two factors- the education factor and the openess to changies at work factor (DME) predict higher degree of unemployment lenght.
