Work within bachelor provides research of soils, groundwater and surface water chemical properties and composition in Olaine liquid hazardous waste dump or „Ekolauks” waste ponds contaminated teritory, based on previous researches due to the formation of waste dump decontamination project.
Samples in the waste dumps contaminated teritory are collected both of soils and surface waters from drainage system ditch, collecting them with a method of transects, to see and examine the relationships between groundwaters and soils or surface water, in their direction of flow – southeast from the waste ponds.
Collected soil samples are then tested for heavy metal (Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb) saturation and for components, that can influence their concentrations - pH, ECEC and content of organic matter. Water samples are tested to determine their quality indicators like, for example, nitrogen compounds, total organic carbon saturation and chemical oxygen demand.
The work has shown, that the pollution from waste ponds, that the ground waters contain, has a rather medial influence to soils and surface waters - there are maximum and even abnormal concentrations discovered in those sampling points, who are in the ground water polluted teritory. A matching is found in the soil and water analysis, discovering that the sample spots standing close to each other have similar raised concentrations.
Work developed on 71 page, witch consists of 7 tables and 9 figures, as well as 5 annex on 8 pages, that consists of 11 figures. 73 literary sources are used in the work.
