Bachelor’s thesis is “Analysis of maximal discharge and water level of the year at the hydrological station Lielupe-Mežotne from 1921 to 2013”. Paper analyzes year maximal discharge and water levels at hydrological station Lielupe-Mežotne during the period from 1921 to 2013.
In bachelor’s theoretical section information about Latvian river hydrological regime, it phases, water feeding types and floods, their classification in the world and flood risk areas in Latvia is summarized.
In bachelor’s result section, based on hydrological station Lielupe-Mežotne hydrologic observation data (daily discharge and water level), character of maximal discharges and water levels of the year and their long-term changes in Lielupe near Mežotne are analyzed. Flood risk map at different exceedance probabilities and maps of Mežotne flooded areas in 2010 and 2013 are made.
