Darbs sastāv no divām daļām.
The bachelor's thesis is about the literal translation peculiarities of personal names. Author analyses the Russian translation of the personal names of the heroes in Māra Cielēna's children fairy tale ''Pasakas par diviem'' ("Tales of two"), considering the specifics of literary text translation. Its goal – to find out and describe the peculiarities of the translation of personal names. Special attention is paid to those personal names that do not match the original – if the name is changed or adapted to the Russian language.
The work consists of two parts. In the first part the most important issues for the study of translation theory are reflected, while in the second part the translation of the personal names is analysed, the characteristics of the translations, the specificity and difference from the original.
The study may appear interesting to the philologists who deal with similar challenges, as well as all the readers who are interested in this issue.
