ASV spēka diplomātija: Irānas gadījuma analīze

Abstract

Pētījumā atspoguļota ASV spēka diplomātija pret Irānu Baraka Obamas prezidentūras ietvaros laika posmā no 2009.-2013. gadam. Darba mērķis ir, veicot gadījumu analīzi, skaidrot, vai ASV spēka diplomātija Irānas gadījumā ļāvusi realizēt izvirzītos mērķus un vai starp Irānu un ASV pastāv motivācijas asimetrija. Darba uzdevumi ir apkopot un izveidot kritēriju kopumu, skaidrot vai un kā šie kritēriji noteiktajā gadījumā ir izpildījušies un kādas ir pieļautās kļūdas, kā arī pievērsties oponenta motivācijas analīzei. Par teorētisko pamatu ņemta galvenokārt A.Džordža radītā teorija un pēc viņa izveidotajiem kritērijiem darba empīrijā analizēts Irānas gadījums.

This paper studies U.S. coercive diplomacy towards Iran during the presidency of Barack Obama (2009-2013). The purpose of this study is to establish whether U.S. coercive diplomacy in the case of Iran has reached its goals and whether there is motivation asymmetry between the U.S. and Iran. Main tasks of this paper are to collect and analyse main conditions that favour coercive diplomacy, to explain whether and how these conditions have been accomplished by the U.S., what are main fallacies and to analyse the motivation of the opponent. Theory is based on A.George theoretical work and his established conditions are used for the case study analysis of Iran.
