Ceļojumu aprakstu izdošanas tradīcijas latviešu grāmatniecībā

Abstract

Lai gan ceļojumu literatūra ieņem savu noteiktu vietu gan veikalu, gan bibliotēku grāmatu plauktos, ceļojumu aprakstu izdošana un to ietekme uz lasītājiem, ir maz pētīts temats. Līdz šim nav apkopots visu izdoto ceļojumu aprakstu izdevumu klāsts Latvijā. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt ceļojumu aprakstu izdevumu izdošanas tradīcijas Latvijā, kā arī apkopot Latvijā izdotos ceļojumu aprakstu izdevumus, salīdzināt latviešu un ārzemju ceļojumu izdevumus un to īpatsvaru. Darba ietvaros tika analizētas ceļojumu aprakstu definīcijas. Darba gaitā tiek veidota ceļojumu aprakstu grāmatu bibliogrāfija laika posmam no 1991.gada līdz 2014.gadam. Izveidotā bibliogrāfija to veido 106 Latvijā ceļojumu aprakstu grāmatām. Tiek veikta apkopoto grāmatu analīze. Izanalizējot izveidoto bibliogrāfiju tiek noskaidrots, ka Latvijā izdod vairāk latviešu autoru ceļojumu aprakstu grāmatas. Latvijā izdoto ceļojumu aprakstu izdevumu skaits ir sistemātiski pieaudzis kopš 1993.gada.

Even though travel literature has its guaranteed place in the bookstores and libraries, the genre itself and its influence on the readers are still poorly researched and there has yet to be made an overview of publications within the genre in Latvia. The goal of this research is therefore to illuminate the publishing traditions of travel literature in Latvia. Furthermore to create an overview of all travel literature published in Latvia as well as make a comparison between Latvian and foreign travel literature traditions and the proportion of foreign literature in the Latvian market. Throughout this project the definitions of travel literature and travel journals were analysed. A bibliography of travel journals published in Latvia was developed. It includes 106 travel books published from 1991 to 2014. The books included in the bibliography were examined. Results of the present study shows that there are more Latvian than foreign authors’ travel books published in Latvia and that, overall, the amount of travel literature has systematically increased since 1993.
