Foreign trade is an important part of the country. It is essential for the country to build an economic environment and conditions in order to make it easier for entrepreneurs to export their products abroad, and, at the same time, be able to attract investment to expand internal production and develop it further.
The objective of the Bachelor Thesis is to evaluate the development perspectives of Latvia’s foreign trade, by reviewing theoretical aspects of the foreign trade as well as by analysing export activities of Latvia.
The results show that until the recent conflict between Russia and Ukraine, significant part of Latvian manufacturers exported their products to Russia. When Russian Federation imposed import embargo on a large proportion of foreign production, Latvia was considerably affected by these political an economical consequences. However, during the research, it was found that the Latvian entrepreneurs quite successfully have been able to go with the times, and it is close to or some already export its products to the Asian and US markets.
