| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | The study ‘Bordered Production: A Case Study of Artisanal Home Wine Making in Latvia’ focuses on experiences of winemakers entering the ‘formal market sphere’. Qualitative methods are applied to analyse how they come to accept, appropriate or contest normative regulations and assumptions constituting what is Latvian wine and how it should be produced and distributed in the context of specific market sector within the post-industrial economy. Analysis shows that winemakers do not perceive normative regulations as a burden but instead take pleasure and pride from being able to constitute their wine amid and through them as a high-quality product of artistry desired by consumers. It also shows that although production input and output as well as profit are important notions within the formal sector there still is a moral dimension to it. | en_US |
