Eiropas identitātes attīstība 2004-2014: Latvijas gadījuma analīze

Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma ir “Eiropas identitātes attīstība 2004-2014: Latvijas gadījuma analīze”. Pētījuma problēma – turpinoties Latvijas ciešākai integrācijai Eiropas Savienībā un vienlaikus pieaugot vispārējam eiroskepticismam Eiropas Savienības iekšienē, ir nepieciešams vērtēt, vai Latvijas iedzīvotāju un politiskās elites vidū ir vērojama Eiropas identitāte, vai arī ir notikusi izolēšanās no Eiropas vērtībām, uzskatiem un dzīvesveida. Pētījuma mērķi ir uzzināt, kā notiek Eiropas integrācija un kā tas ietekmē Eiropas identitātes veidošanos, kā arī noskaidrot, kādu stāvokli Latvijā ieņem Eiropas identitāte. Pētījumā tiek izmantotas gadījumu analīzes un kontentanalīzes metodes. Rezultāti: Latvijā pastāv Eiropas identitāte un tai ir sekundāra loma uzreiz aiz nacionālās identitātes.

The topic of this Bachelor thesis is “Development of European identity 2004-2014. Case study: Latvia”. Problem that needs to be researched – in an age of growing euroscepticism within the European Union while there are still ongoing processes of European integration, it is crucial to evaluate the role of European identity alongside with national identity among the citizes of Latvia and Latvian political elite. It needs to be researched whether or not Latvians have isolated themselves from European values, attitudes and lifestyle. The aims are to find out how European integration takes place and how it impacts the shaping of European identity, and to find out how dominant European identity is in Latvia. Methods used are case study and content analysis. Results: European identity in Latvia has a secondary role after the national identity.
