Abstract

Maģistra darbs „Francijas aizsardzības politika pēc Aukstā kara” aplūko starptautiskās sistēmas strukturālo izmaiņu ietekmi uz Francijas aizsardzības politikas stratēģiju un tās realizāciju. Tas balstās hipotēzē, ka Francijas aizsardzības politika pēc Aukstā kara veidojusies, balstoties uz tās relatīvās varas vairošanu, lai uzturētu Francijas ietekmi starptautiskajā sistēmā. Izvirzītā hipotēze darba gaitā ir pierādīta. Maģistra darba teorētiskais pamats ir strukturālā reālisma izpratne par starptautiskajām attiecībām, valstu rīcību un relatīvo varu. Darba empīriskā daļa veltīta tam, lai iezīmētu Francijas aizsardzības politikas vēsturisko kontekstu un stratēģisko satvaru pēc Aukstā kara beigām, kā arī pētītu Francijas aizsardzības politikas praktisko realizāciju trīs līmeņos – nacionālajā, Eiropas Savienības un NATO līmenī, izvērtējot, kā Francijas aizsardzības politikā atspoguļojas strukturālo reālistu noteiktie relatīvās varas vairošanas aspekti.

Master thesis „French defense politics after the Cold War” concentrates on the way international system’s structural changes have influenced French defense policy strategy and its implementation. It is based on hypothesis that French defense policy after the Cold War is based on accumulating France’s relative power and thus ensuring its influence in the international system. The hypothesis is proven right. Structural realism’s interpretation of the international relations, role of state and relative power serves as the theoretical basis of this master thesis. The empirical research concentrates on illustrating the historical context and strategic framework of the French defense policy, as well as its practical implementation in three levels – national, European Union and NATO level by analyzing how the relative power accumulation aspects defined by structural realists are reflected in the French defense policy after the Cold War.
