Baltijas valstis Eiropas sociālā modeļa kontekstā

Abstract

Pētījuma problēma ir noskaidrot, kā Baltijas valstis izceļas uz Eiropas sociālā modeļa fona. Mērķis ir izpētīt Eiropas sociālo modeli, Baltijas valstis tajā. Teorijā sniegtā informācija ir literatūras un avotu apkopojums, kas skaidro Eiropas sociālo modeli. Uz jautājumu – Kādas ir Baltijas valstu sociālā modeļa pazīmes? – rasta atbilde, aplūkojot Baltijas valstu sniegumu uz Eiropas sociālā modeļa indikatoru fona. Izmantotā pētniecības metode ir gadījuma analīze (ar kvantitatīvajām un kvalitatīvajām metodēm). Baltijas valstu gadījums ir līdzīgs pārējām Austrumeiropas valstīm. Autore nonāk pie secinājuma, ka Baltijas valstis neietilpst nevienā no klasiskajiem Eiropas sociālā modeļa tipiem. Baltijas valstīm ir kopīgas iezīmes gan ar Vidusjūras, gan Skandināvijas sociālā modeļa tipiem, taču tās neintegrējas pilnībā nevienā no tiem.

The goal of this research is to study the concept of European Social Model and to find out how the Baltic states carry out the aims of it. Theoretic part of the paper consists of scholarly articles, books and previous research done on the topic of European Social Model. The question to which the author seeks answer is: What characterises the Baltic social model? Methodology used in the empirical part of the paper is case study combined with both qualitative and quantitative methods of research. The author comes to the conclusion that Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia do not fit in any of the classic European Social Model types, rather it has some characteristics in common with Mediterranean and Scandinavian models – but does not fully integrate in any of the given.
