dc.description.abstract | Bakalaura darba tēma ir „Vizuālās metaforas "Pasaules Dabas Fonda" drukātajās reklāmās (2011. – 2014.)”.
| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | The theme of my bachelor’s thesis is Visual metaphors in World Wildlife Fund (WWF) printed advertisements (2011 – 2014).
The aim of my thesis is to find out what kinds of visual metaphors are used in the “WWF” advertisements and whether there are any significant tendencies of metaphor use in these advertisements. Additionallu I explore whether metaphorical or non-metaphorical advertisements are more efficient in audience.
My research hypothesis: the “WWF” advertisements that contain metaphors are more efficient than the advertisements that do not contain metaphors.
My bachelor thesis is structured in three parts – theory, methodology and empirical part, which contains analysis of results and conclusions. The theoretical part of my thesis is based on advertising theory, semiotics and cognitive theory of metaphor.
Quantitative and qualitative contentanalysis are used as research methods for analyzing the “WWF” advertisements. A survey is used to analyse audience.
Results of my thesis indicate the ranking of the most frequently used “WWF” metaphors and confirmed the hypothesis. | en_US |
