With the development of computer vision and machine learning, number of different facial recognition algorithms has grown. Solutions to different facial recognition problems are used for security reasons, in image processing, in entertainment industry and in many others aspects of human life. It is important to understand, why such a big range of facial recognition algorithms exists, and is it possible for a united effective algorithm for facial recognition problems’ solution to be achieved. The main purpose of this paper is to answer, are full facial recognition algorithms that effectively deal with facial recognition key problems possible: face displacement, angle changes, lighting changes in the picture. The main tasks consist of becoming familiar with facial recognition process, existing algorithms and their use in real life solutions, analyzing algorithms and available solutions, determination of their strong and weak points. As a result of this paper, existing solutions to facial recognition problems were researched, their inspection and analyze allows to conclude, that the hypothesis of the work is confirmed.
