Visbiežāk šos medikamentus lieto pacienti vecumā no 60 līdz 79 gadiem. Hypertension is the main risk factor for cardiovascular diseases and stroke. One of the ways how to prevent them is to use antihypertensive drugs related to the angiotensin system. These drugs include angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEi) and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB). The aim of the bachelor work was to investigate distribution of different antihypertensive drugs related to the angiotensin system at the drug store "A APOTHEKA -58" in the year 2015. The method of the study was based on the data collection of prescriptions written by medical doctors during 2015. The data showed, that the most demanded drugs in year 2015 were ACEi-containing monopreparations in comparison with ARB-containing monopreparations. Author found that ACEi and ARB drugs are more often prescribed to women than men, and these drugs mostly are used by patients in age from 60 to 79. Antihypertensive agents related to the angiotensin system are mainly prescribed at the diagnosis essential (primary) hypertension and their use does not depend on seasonality. From the prescribed ACEi drug group, priority was given to ramipril, perindopril and enalapril, while from ARB group - telmisartan and candesartan. The drug daily dose in prescriptions coincides with the defined daily dose, or it was even higher.
