Ievads. Iekļauti 103 dalībnieki, no kuriem smēķētāji bija 20,4%. Lielākai daļai smēķētāju vecumā <60 gadiem asinsspiediens bija ≥140/90mm/Hg. Smēķētājiem (17,5%) kuri lietoja beta-adrenoblakatorus, asinsspiediens biežāk bija ≥140/90mm/Hg. Secinājumi. Smēķēšanas popularitāte vairāk izteikta vīriešu vidū, un īpaši gados jaunāki respondentiem, negatīvi ietekmējot arteriālās hipertensijas terapiju. Introduction. Smoking is one of the contributing risk factors of arterial hypertension, influencing the pharmacokinetics of drugs. Aim. To analyze smoking influence on arterial hypertension and the development of therapeutic effects to use during treatment. Materials and methods. Quantitative study was performed in the open type pharmacies in Riga, including respondents with the arterial hypertension. Results. Included 103 participants, of which smokers were 20.4%. For greatest part of smokers in age <60 years blood pressure were ≥140/90mm/Hg. For smokers (17.5%) who receiving beta blockers, blood pressure more often were ≥140/90mm/Hg. Conclusion. Smoking popularity more pronounced among men, particularly for younger respondents, negative affecting the arterial hypertension therapy. Key words: smoking, arterial hypertension, drug therapy.
