Abstract
Poliprenoli (PP) ir vitāli svarīgi komponenti dzīvo organismu šūnās, tiem piemīt hepatoprotektīva, pretvīrusa, imūnmodulējoša un holesterīna pazeminoša iedarbība (Vais et al., 2012; Safatov et al., 2000; Pronin et al., 2013;). Ir maz pētīts par to ietekmi uz CNS funkcijām, atsevišķi dati liecina ka PP uzlabo kognitīvās funkcijas Alcheimera slimības (AD) žurku modelī (Fedotova et al., 2010; Wang et al., 2014). PP piemīt arī antioksidatīvā iedarbība (Bizzarri et al., 2003) , tāpēc tas liek domāt, ka PP var pasargāt no stresa negatīvās ietekmes uz kognitīvām funkcijām.

Polyprenols (PP) are vital components of living organisms’ cells, their hepatoprotective, antivirus, immune stimulating and cholesterol decreasing effects are already known (Vais et al., 2012; Safatov et al., 2000; Pronin et al., 2013). Their effects on the central nervous system (CNS) have been studied a little, nevertheless, already there is data showing that the PP improves cognitive functions in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) rat model (Fedotova et al., 2010; Wang et al., 2014). PP also have the antioxidative effect and it may suggest that PP can be protective against the negative stress influence on cognitive functions (Bizzarri et al., 2003).The objective if this work was to evaluate the effects of PP on memory processes and behaviour of experimental animals (Wistar rats) per se and affected by acute stress. The obtained data shows that PP improve spatial memory that is impaired by acute stress and normalize plasma corticosterone level. The most active dose of PP was 20 mg/kg.
