One of the approaches that enables to easily and efficiently retrieve information is by searching it on search engine, although nowadays there are too many of them and the retrieved information does not always meet user expectations. The aim of this study is to determine which one of the three search engines – Google, Yahoo and Bing is more qualitative, focusing on usability and usefulness and to compare them with each other. In order to achieve the aim, search engines are studied using think aloud protocol and questionnaire. The study is based on the interaction triptych model by looking from user-centered evaluation approache on usefulness and usability. The results of study reveals shortcomings of the search engines and shows that Google is superior than the other two in terms of usefulness and usability. Keywords: search engine, information retrieval, Google, Yahoo, Bing, usability, usefulness, user-centerd aproach.
