Meža apsaimniekošanas scenāriji un to novērtējums Apes un Smiltenes novados

Abstract

Maģistra darbā tika vērtēta meža apsaimniekošanas ietekme uz meža ainavas telpisko struktūru Apes un Smiltenes novados un izstrādāti nākotnes scenāriji meža apsaimniekošanai. Bioloģiskās daudzveidības saglabāšanai arī Apes un Smiltenes novados svarīgs ir pieaugušu un pāraugušu mežaudžu izvietojums un to savienošana ar ekoloģiskajiem koridoriem. Literatūras analīzē aprakstīta meža ekosistēmas telpiskās struktūras loma bioloģiskās daudzveidības nodrošināšanā, kā arī vērtēta meža politikas ietekme uz meža ainavas telpisko struktūru. Atbilstoši dotajiem uzdevumiem darbā izstrādāti mežsaimnieciskie scenāriji (bāzes, ekoloģiskais un ekonomiskais) Apes un Smiltenes novadam. Katrs no scenārijiem attēlots kartē. To aprakstīšanai un novērtēšanai izmantoti ainavu metrikas indikatori. Tie uzskatāmi pierāda, ka bioloģiskai daudzveidībai svarīgās audzēs - pieaugušās un pāraugušās - telpiskā struktūra un konektivitāte uzlabojas, ja tajās netiek veiktas kailcirtes.

In his Master’s thesis the author assesses the impact of forest management on the spatial structure of forest landscape in Ape and Smiltene counties, and develops future scenarios for forest management. The disposition of mature and over-mature forest stands, as well as the connection thereof with ecological corridors, is important for preserving biological diversity also in Ape and Smiltene counties. In the literature review the author describes the role of the spatial structure of forest ecosystem in providing biological diversity, as well as assesses the impact of forest policy on the spatial structure of forest landscape. Pursuant to the given tasks the author develops forest management scenarios for Ape and Smiltene counties, where each of the scenarios is mapped, and landscape metric indicators are used to describe thereof. They demonstrate that spatial structure and connectivity improves in the forest stands, which are important in terms of biological diversity - mature and over-mature stands, if clear cutting is not provided therein.
