Topic of the Master’s thesis is ,,Quality of Palliative Care for Pediatric Patients”. This theme is actual because the number of pediatric patients is growing every year. The aim of this research is to find out and analyze the opinion of nurses and parents about quality of pediatric palliative care. The setting of research applied research in theoretical Virginia Henderson's Need Theory and Katharine Kolcaba comfort theory, study and analyze scientific literature on pediatric patients in palliative care quality and its evaluation, develop and describe the research tools to build respondents selection, organize and carry out nursing questionnaires and interviews with patients' parents describe and analyze the results of a study to develop and substantiate the conclusions and recommendations. The hypothesis - nurses opinion about the quality of pediatric palliative care differences depending from the subspecialty departments The survey questions: What is the nurses’ view about problems in quality of pediatric palliative care ? What is the parents' opinion about quality of children's palliative care? The study used a combined methodology: non-experimental quantitative method - survey and non-experimental qualitative method - interviews. Results of the research: the hypothesis is not confirmed because opinion of nurses about pediatric palliative care does not differby department subspecialty. The survey questions answered. The main barriers to ensure a better quality of palliative care for pediatric patients are: program and staffing barriers, discomfort experienced by staff when announcing bad news, gaps in the financing of health care, unmet spiritual or emotional needs of the patient/family and emotionally draining for the provider. The parent view: insufficient support for the palliative child's siblings. Communication problems, lack of time to explain and talk about care. Both nurses and parents see as problems in pediatric palliative care: lack of training level staff and lack of time.
