Patentu informācijas centra loma patentinformācijpratības veicināšanā

Abstract

Pētījums „Patentu informācijas centra loma patentinformācijpratības veicināšanā” veikts ar mērķi apzināt PATLIB centra Patentu tehniskās bibliotēkas lomu patentinformācijpratības veicināšanā. Mērķa īstenošanai apzināta pētāmā informācijas centra darbība, šīs darbības ietekme uz patentu informācijas lietotāju informācijas prasmēm. Pētījumā gaitā tiek attīstīts jauns termins – patentinformācijpratība, definētas galvenās patentinformācijpratīga lietotāja informācijas prasmes. Pētījumā tiek izmantota jaukta tipa pētījuma stratēģija, izmantojot kvantitatīvo un kvalitatīvo pieeju kombināciju. Rezultāti atklāj, ka patentu informācijas lietotāju patentinformācijpratības līmenis ir vidējs. Rezultātu analīzei izmantotas pragmatisma teorijas, kā arī „Lielā sešinieka” informācijpratības modeļa un informācijas pakalpojuma izmantošanas modeļa atziņas.

The research “The role of Patent Information Centre in promoting patent information literacy” has been done with an aim to identify the role of the PATLIB center Patent and Technology Library for promotion of the patent information literacy. The research studied information center functioning and impact on the patent information users' information skills to achieve the objective of the study. There has been created new term – patent information literacy – and defined the main patent information literacy skills. Combined strategy with qualitative and quantitative research methods has been used for the research. The results show that the level of patent information literacy is average. Concepts of pragmatism, information literacy model “The Big Six” and model of use of information service have been used to interpret the results.
