The Judicial independence has still been pressing issue in nowadays. It causes extensive discussion not only among the lawyers and legal scholars, but raises the concern in the rest of society. The Comprehension and understanding of the state power, the theory of separation of powers and guarantees of judicial independence are not to be imagined without historical research. The chosen theme is topical, and has almost not been researched from this angle at all. The Author imposes the following objective in the work - to analyze the implementation of the principle of separation of powers within guarantees of judicial independence in time frame y. 1918 - 1940. To explore not only the principle of separation of powers from the aspect of judicial independence, but also to research the formation of judicial power of Latvia and its historical roots. The historical experience is the exact bases for identifying the problem and setting the path to a solution, providing opportunities to assess the already chosen solution models and to find the causes of the problem thereof.
