Šī darba mērķis bija noteikt GABAB agonista baklofēna ļoti mazu devu (0,01 un 0,05 mg/kg) ietekmi uz AD-tipa ICV STZ modeļa žurku smadzeņu garozas un hipokampa tirozīnhidroksilāzes blīvumu. Iegūtie rezultāti neuzrādīja būtiskas atšķirības tirozīnhidroksilāzes blīvumā garozā un hipokampā pēc baklofēna (gan 0,01 mg/kg, gan 0,05 mg/kg) ievadīšanas gan kontroles grupas, gan bojājuma grupas dzīvniekiem. Šie dati norāda, ka dopamīnerģiskā sistēma netiek traucēta ICV STZ ievadīšanas rezultātā un šīs sistēmas darbību neietekmē baklofēna ļoti mazas devas. Iespējams, ka ilgākos pētījumos GABAB agonisti spētu ietekmēt tirozīnhidroksilāzes blīvumu AD-tipa modeļdzīvnieku smadzenēs. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of GABAB agonist baclofen in very low doses (0.01 and 0.05 mg/kg) on tyrosine hydroxylase density in the brain cortex and hippocampus of AD-type ICV STZ model rats. The obtained results showed no significant differences in cortical and hippocampal tyrosine hydroxylase density after treatment with baclofen (both 0.01 mg/kg and 0.05 mg/kg) neither in the control nor in the lesion group animals. These data show that dopaminergic system is not affected by the ICV injection of STZ and that its activity is not influenced by very low dose baclofen. It might be possible that in a longer duration studies the effects of GABAB agonists on tyrosine hydroxylase density in the AD-type model would occur.
