Rokmūzikas diskurss jauniešu izdevumos "Liesma" un "Padomju Jaunatne" 1988. un 1989. gadā

Abstract

Bakalaura darba mērķis ir atklāt, kāds ir rokmūzikas diskurss jauniešu izdevumos “Liesma” un “Padomju Jaunatne” 1988. un 1989. gadā, pētot abu izdevumu attiecīgo gadu publikācijas, kurās tiek rakstīts par rokmūziku vai to saistītajām kulturālajām izpausmēm. Bakalaura darba teorētiskajā daļā aplūkotas teorijas par populāro kultūru, subkultūrām un reprezentāciju. Sniegts ieskats perestroikas periodā un ar to saistītajos notikumos, galvenokārt, ietekmē uz kultūru un medijiem, kā arī apskatīta populārās kultūras un rokmūzikas nozīme Padomju Savienībā perestroikas laikā un kopumā. Ar kvantitatīvās kontentanalīzes un kritiskās diskursa analīzes palīdzību iegūtie rezultāti liecina, ka 1988. un 1989. gadā rokmūzika tiek lielākoties vērtēta neitrāli vai pozitīvi, par to tiek rakstīts brīvi. Vairāk tiek rakstīts par Latvijas, nevis Rietumu grupām. Rokmūzika ir spēlējusi būtisku lomu Latvijas kultūras dzīvē abos pētītajos gados.

The aim of bachelor’s thesis “Discourse of rock music in youth periodicals "Liesma" and "Padomju Jaunatne" in 1988 and 1989” is to find out what was the discourse of rock music in youth-oriented press works “Liesma” and “Padomju Jaunatne” in the years 1988 and 1989, by analysing publications of both periodicals in chosen years that are about rock music or cultural expressions that are linked to rock music. The theory of the work focuses on theory about popular culture, subcultures and representation. An overview of the perestroika period is provided. It focuses on how perestroika policy affected the culture and the work of media as well as what role popular culture and rock music had during perestroika and their role in Soviet Union in general. With quantitative content analysis and critical discourse analysis it was determined that during both years – 1988 and 1989 rock music was viewed either neutrally or positively, it was a freely discussed topic. Publications write more about latvian musicians than they do about stars from the West. Rock music has played an important role in the history of Latvia during both chosen years.
