In the search of more fair, successful and suitable social choice function within the issue of public choice theory, a number of new decision making mechanisms have emerged. Elections is the most comprehensive process where one can use these mechanisms. Even though there is a wide range of voting systems worldwide, the voter in the Republic of Latvia is limited having only one vote for one party. Aim of the work is to analyse different voting models that include the voter’s option to have more votes than only the first choice. The author researched five models and results suggest - such models would bring significantly different outcomes. Conclusions are that with these models, more parties would clear the 5% barrier, thus parliament being more uniform. However, using the classical Bord count method, the results would be the most diverse. Keywords: Public Choice, Election Systems, Borda Count, Negative Voting, Alternative Voting, Voter Preferences
