Abstract

Vidusskolēnu mācīšanās motivācijas veicināšana bioloģijas stundās daudzvalodu mācību vidē. Pētījuma mērķis: izpētīt vidusskolēnu mācīšanās motivācijas veicināšanas pedagoģiskās iespējas bioloģijas stundās. Starptautiskajās skolās pastāv problēma ar veiksmīgu skolēnu iesaistīšanu mācību procesā ar dažādām valodas prasmes līmeņiem. Konkrēti, šajā rakstā tika pētīta akadēmiskās valodas specifiskās diferenciācijas metožu kopuma ietekme uz iekšējas motivācijas veicināšanu bioloģijas stundās. Tika noskaidrots, ka pastāv spēcīga korelācija starp mācīšanas motivāciju, valodas prasmes līmeņiem un skolēnu sasniegumiem. Diferencēšanas metožu ieviešana statistiski nozīmīgi palielināja skolēnu sasniegumus un motivācijas līmeņus. Turklāt tika apstiprināta iepriekš publicētā motivācijas vērtēšanas rīka ticamība tā pielietošanai starptautiskajās izglītības iestādēs. Pētījuma rezultāti var tikt izmantoti arī kā pamats mācības metodikas izstrādāšanai valodas apguvējiem ārpus valodas stundām. Atslēgvārdi: motivācija, diferencētas mācību metodes, daudzvalodu vide. Promoting the motivation of high school students in biology lessons in the multilingual learning environment. The aim of the research: to study the pedagogical possibilities of promoting secondary school pupils' motivation for studying in biology lessons. There is an ongoing problem in international schools with the inclusion of English language learners in the educational process in other subjects. This paper investigates the effect of academic language-specific differentiation methods on the internal motivation to study. It is revealed that there is a strong correlation between the motivation and proficiency in the language of instruction, and the achievement grades in high-school biology students. Differentiation implementation methods resulted in statistically significant increases in student achievement and levels of motivation. Additionally, this paper confirms the validity of previously published motivation measurement instrument in international school settings. The research findings have implications for the development of educational approaches for English language learners. Key words: motivation, differentiated teaching methods, multilingual environment.
