Vispārējās jurisdikcijas tiesas, kas skata strīdus apelācijas kārtībā, arī 2017. gadā ir pārpludinātas ar neizskatītām lietām. Līdz ar to strīdu izskatīšana aizvien vēl būtiski apgrūtina civiltiesiskās apgrozības intereses. Darba mērķis ir atrast efektīvus veidus, kā uzlabot apelācijas instances tiesas procesu, pirmkārt, lai mazinātu tiesās uzkrāto lietu skaitu un veicinātu procesa ātrumu, otrkārt, veicinātu sabiedrības uzticību tiesu varai. Pētījuma rezultātā tiek piedāvāti praktiski risinājumi apelācijas instances tiesas spriedumu kvalitātes uzlabošanai, kā arī, baltoties uz ārzemju pieredzi, piedāvāti vairāki Civilprocesa likuma grozījumi. General jurisdiction courts, which review cases in appellation, also in year 2017 are flooded with unsettled disputes. Consequently, these disputes yet still considerably burden the civil interests of the society. The aim of this thesis is to find effective ways, how to improve the proceedings of appellate court, firstly, in order to reduce the number of unsettled disputes and to facilitate procedural speed, secondly, to favour confidence of society in judicial power. The result of this attempt was the development of practical solutions that would increase the quality of judgements of appellate court, as well as suggestions, which are based on the experience of foreign countries and which should be incorporated in Latvian law.
