Stratēģiski pamatotu lēmumu pieņemšana dažāda lieluma uzņēmumos ir ļoti svarīga. Biznesa informācijas (BI) rīki nodrošina lēmumu pieņēmējus ar nepieciešamo informāciju. Pamatā BI rīki ir dārga programmatūra, taču pieejami arī bezmaksas atvērtā pirmkoda risinājumi. Trūkst plašu, aktuālu un detalizētu bezmaksas atvērtā pirmkoda BI rīku pārskatu, kas sniegtu informāciju par to kvalitātēm, trūkumiem un iespējām. Maģistra darba gaitā apskatīti esošie BI rīku salīdzinājumi. Kā arī izvērtēti 15 dažādi bezmaksas atvērtā pirmkoda rīki, kas balstīti uz darba autora izvirzītajiem kritērijiem. Pēc 15 rīku funkcionalitātes analīzes, izvēlēti četri rīki praktiska salīdzinājuma veikšanai – KNOWAGE, ART, Metabase un Seal Report. Ar šiem rīkiem veidots konkrēti aprakstīts projekts un veikts rīku salīdzinājums detalizētā līmenī. It is very important to make strategically reasonable decisions in various type of enterprises. Business intelligence (BI) tools give all the necessary information to decision makers. In general BI tools are very expensive but there are available some free open source BI tools. There is a lack of broad, up to date and detailed open source BI tool surveys, which would give the necessary information about their main advantages, disadvantages and potential. Existing overviews were reviewed. And there were evaluated 15 different free open source BI tools based on authors’ criteria. After functional analysis of those 15 tools, there were selected four of them for more detailed analysis – KNOWAGE, ART, Metabase and Seal Report. To make detailed comparsion of the selected tools, there was BI project defined and realized on each of them.
