The internet of things (IoT) is one of the most known and at the same time rapidly developing topic in information technology field. Using the IoT concept and the connected technologies it is possible to make the business processes more effective, improve the quality of the products and services and assure better level of safety. The goal of the bachelor thesis is to develop the automated system for the company “Flora” which is used to read the environmental data (temperature, soil moisture, light, conductivity). For the projects purposes the concept is prepared which covers the most important project aspects: schedule, budget, technical information and limitations. Relying on the concept the project solution is developed, tested and implemented. The result of the bachelor thesis ir the developed and implemented home automation system which automatically collect the data from the Xiaomi Mi Flora sensors and using Raspberry Pi single board computer are sent to the cloud database.
