Lake Dūņezers, located in Limbazi, is a part of specially protected nature territory - North Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve, in the protected nature area "Dūņezers". The lake is also located in the biosphere reserve zone territory of landscape conservation, and is also a Natura 2000 site. Despite this, the lake is subjected to a significant point source of pollution - Limbaži wastewater treatment plant, and according to the Cabinet of Ministers regulations No. 418, is included in the list of risk water bodies. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to perform physico-chemical analysis of the lake, analyze the data of past monitorings and literature, in order to understand the processes taking place in the lake, that influence the circulation of the biogenic elements in it, while taking into account the volume and nature of the discharged waste water.
