Abstract

S.S. van Daina 1928.gadā apkopotie „Divdesmit detektīvu rakstīšanas noteikumi” ir nozīmīgs raksts, kas mēģināja definēt detektīvus, aprakstot to kopējās pazīmes. Šajā darbā tika aplūkots šo noteikumu nozīmīgums mūsdienu kontekstā, lai izpētītu, vai, par spīti literatūras attīstībai, viņa noteikumi joprojām ir universāli pielietojami. Izmantojot izvēlēto darbu analīzi, interpretāciju, salīdzināšanu un rūpīgu lasīšanu, darbā tika analizēti S.S. van Daina noteikumi, kuri nepieciešamības gadījumā tika uzlaboti, lai būtu pielietojami arī mūsdienās. Darba rezultātā tika izstrādāta metodoloģija detektīvu sižeta struktūras plānošanai. Šis atklājums nodrošina jaunu veidu, kā autori var plānot un analizēt sižeta izstrādi detektīvdarbos. S.S. van Dine’s Twenty Rules of Detective Writing (1928) is a significant article that tried to define the detective genre by highlighting their common characteristics. This thesis investigates the relevance of Van Dine’s rules in modern literature context, to examine if, despite the literature advancements, his rules have remained universal to all detective writing. Using textual analysis of selected works, interpretation, comparison, and close reading, the work succeeded in analysing the rules, and improving them, where necessary, to fit the current state of detective writing genre. It resulted in developing a new methodology to structure the plot in a detective. This discovery provides a new way authors can plan and analyze plots in detectives.
