Darba un ģimenes dzīves preferences

Abstract

Šī darba tēma ir “Darba un ģimenes dzīves preferences”. Kā bakalaura darba mērķis tiek izvirzīts noskaidrot, cik liela daļa sieviešu un vīriešu izvēlas karjeru kā savu galveno prioritāti vai mēģina saskaņot ģimenes un dzīves prasības. Tiek izvirzītas arī trīs hipotēzes: 1) ģimenes tipa sievietes biežāk piekritīs dažādiem apgalvojumiem par dzimumu lomām, kas saistīti ar sievietes rūpēm par mājas dzīvi; 2) lielākā daļa sieviešu cenšas ģimenes dzīvi apvienot ar algota darba iespējām; 3) sievietes (it īpaši adaptīvā tipa) lielākā mēra nekā vīrieši atbalstīs dažādus atbalsta veidus, kas palīdz saskaņot darba un ģimenes dzīves pienākumus. Kā darba teorētiskais ietvars tiek izmantota Katerīnas Hakimas izstrādātā preferences teorija. Pētījumā tika izmantota kvantitatīvās pētījuma metodes – tika izstrādāta aptaujas anketa, kas tika izplatīta sadarbojoties ar tirgus un sabiedriskās domas pētījumu centru SKDS (izmantojot SKDS WEB omnibusu). Pētījumā neapstiprinājās tas, ka lielākā daļa sieviešu cenšas ģimenes dzīvi apvienot ar algota darba iespējām, tomēr tas, ka ģimenes tipa sievietes biežāk piekritīs dažādiem apgalvojumiem par dzimumu lomām, kas saistīti ar sievietes rūpēm par mājas dzīvi, apstiprinās tikai daļēji. Arī trešā bakalaura darbā izvirzītā hipotēze, ka sievietes (it īpaši adaptīvā tipa) lielākā mēra nekā vīrieši atbalstīs dažādus atbalsta veidus, kas palīdz saskaņot darba un ģimenes dzīves pienākumus, apstiprinās tikai daļēji.

The present paper discusses the topic of “Work and family life preferences”. The aim of the bachelor’s thesis is to identify what share of women and men choose career as their main priority and try to balance out family and life-related responsibilities. Three hypotheses are put forward: 1) home centred women will more often agree to various assertions regarding gender roles that are related to a woman’s preoccupancy with domestic life; 2) most of women try to merge family life with the possibilities of paid labour; 3) women (especially those of the adaptive type) will be more supportive than men regarding various support measures that allow balancing the responsibilities of work and family life. The theoretical framework of the paper is based on the preference theory developed by Catherine Hakim. The study was carried out by using quantitative research methods – a questionnaire was developed, and it was circulated in cooperation with the Marketing and Public Opinion Research Centre SKDS (by using the WEB omnibus of SKDS). The study did not confirm that most of women try to merge family life with the possibilities of paid labour, whereas the hypothesis that family-type women will more often agree to various assertions regarding gender roles that are related to a woman’s preoccupancy with domestic life was confirmed only partially. The third hypothesis of the paper, stating that women (especially those of the adaptive type) will be more supportive than men regarding various support measures that allow balancing the responsibilities of work and family life, was also confirmed only partially.
