A research needs to be done due to lack of qualitative and quantitative data about gully eroded surfaces in the Kurzeme, Latvia. The aim of the Bachelor Thesis is to study the morphology and formation of gullies and their development in the Blue hills of Slitere. In the field studies 25 sediment cores were done, from which sediments were documented and later used for description of the geological structure of gullies. Earth’s surface model from laser altimetry data was used to analyze drainage basin and morpometric features of the gullies. Glaciolimnic sediments in gully eroded areas lead to consideration, that earliest gully erosion was formed by the outburst of a proglacial lake after the Valdemarpils deglaciation phase.
