The topic of bachelors work is: Different meaning of word ‘democracy’ in 5th 9th and 12th Saeimas parliamentary discourse. The word ‘democracy’, both in political and social sphere is quite often used in wide variety of context, so the author chooses the following theme to find out, what the Parliamentarians want to say while using the word ‘democracy’ in their speeches. There are three categories how to classify the speeches of Parliament members, and those categories are: democracy as a regime and processes of regime, civil society and their political activities and democratic elections. In order to distinguish which category word ‘democracy’ belongs to, the author analyzes the word in the context of the full deputy speech. The main purpose of this work was to find out - in what form, which political parties and which party members, while debating, uses the word ‘democracy’ the most. The main conclusions are: in the case of all three Parliaments, the word ‘democracy,’ most of time, has been used in its most commonly used meaning or in explaining the democratic government system. As the political party, whose members were the most active users of the word, in the background of all three parliaments, is the 9th Saeimas party ‘Jaunais Laiks’, and the most frequently, the term ‘democracy’ mentioned 5th Saeimas deputy Inese Birzniece, the member of political party "Latvijas Ceļš."
