ASV un Izraēlas īpašās attiecības: vai vēl joprojām īpašas?

Abstract

Bakalaura darba “ASV un Izraēlas īpašās attiecības: vai vēl joprojām īpašas?” mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā ir mainījusies ASV ārpolitika pret Izraēlu Baraka Obamas un Donalda Trampa administrācijas laikā un kādi ir iespējamie iemesli šādai attiecību maiņai. Darba ietvaros veiktais pētījums dod devumu pēdējā laikā aktuālajai Izraēlas tēmas analīzei, sniedzot ieskatu tajā, kā ASV prezidenta personība ietekmē ASV ārpolitiku pret Izraēlu. Darba teorētiskā bāze ietver ārpolitikas ietekmējošo faktoru un ārpolitikas pārmaiņu teorijas apskati. Par pamatu darba empīriskajai daļa tika ņemtas abu prezidentu oficiālās runas un paziņojumi. Pamatojoties uz teorētisko bāzi, darba ietvaros tika izstrādāta 5 faktoru metodoloģija, kas noteica, kādi aspekti runās tiks analizēti ar kvalitatīvās pētniecības metodi. Analīzes rezultātā tika secināts, ka Donalda Trampa administrācijas laikā ir mainījusies uztvere un pieņēmumi par to, kādi ir miera sasniegšanas priekšnoteikumi un veidi, kā mieru ir iespējams sasniegt. Atšķirības tika konstatētas arī abu prezidentu personībās, kas pamato ārpolitikas maiņu.

The aim of the bachelor thesis “The U.S. -Israel special relationship: still special?” is to find out how the foreign policy of the U.S. has changed towards Israel and what are the possible reasons for such a foreign policy change. The research done through the framework of this thesis contributes to the increasingly debated upon topic State of Israel by exploring the role of the U.S president’s personality in U.S foreign policy towards Israel. The theoretical framework of the work includes factors influencing foreign policy and foreign policy change theory. The base of the empirical part of the analysis lies in the scrutinisation of official speeches by both presidents of the U.S. On the grounds of theoretical base, a five-factor methodology was created which determined what aspects of the speeches would be examined with qualitative research method. The analysis conclude that the administration of Donald Trump has demonstrated new approach, altering prerequisites of achieving peace and the ways in which to attain it. Differences of both leader personalities have also been noted in relation of shifting state relations.
