Latvijas Universitātes ārvalstu apmaiņas studentu motivācija un pieredze

Abstract

Bakalaura darba nosaukums ir “Latvijas Universitātes ārvalstu apmaiņas studentu motivācija un pieredze”. Tā mērķis ir noskaidrot Latvijas Universitātes ārvalstu apmaiņas studentu motivāciju un pieredzi, izvēloties studēt Latvijā un Latvijas Universitātē. Darbā tiek aplūkota ekspektāciju-vērtības teorija, starpkultūru komunikācija un iepriekš veiktie pētījumi par apmaiņas studentu motivāciju un pieredzi. Darbā tika analizētas Latvijas Universitātes ārvalstu apmaiņas studentu aptaujas anketas (n=61) un 10 intervijas ar Latvijas Universitātes ārvalstu apmaiņas studentiem. Autore secina, ka lielāka iespējamība nokļūt apmaiņas programmā Latvijā nekā citur, nav Latvijas Universitātes ārvalstu apmaiņas studentu motivācija doties apmaiņas programmā uz Latviju. Latvijas Universitātes ārvalstu apmaiņas studentu pieredze, komunicējot ar cilvēkiem no Latvijas, ir daļēji atkarīga no valodas prasmēm.

The title of the bachelor thesis is “Motivation and experience of foreign exchange students of University of Latvia”. The aim of this thesis is to find out the motivation and experience of exchange students, while choosing to study in Latvia and University of Latvia. The expectancy-value theory, intercultural communication, and previously done research about exchange student motivation and experience was reviewed. The data obtained in a questionnaire of exchange students of University of Latvia (n=61) and interviews with 10 exchange students from University of Latvia was analysed. The author concludes that bigger probability of getting into exchange program in Latvia then somewhere else is not the motivation why foreign exchange students of University of Latvia chose Latvia as their exchange program destination. The experience of the foreign exchange students, communicating with people from Latvia, partly depends on language skills.
