Jelgavas pilsētas bibliotēka Akadēmijas ielā 26: ainavas kultūrvēsturiska lasīšana

Abstract

Maģistra darba temats ir “Jelgavas pilsētas bibliotēka Akadēmijas ielā 26: ainavas kultūrvēsturiska lasīšana”. Pētījuma galvenā problēma ir nepietiekami apzinātā Jelgavas pilsētas bibliotēkas ēkas vēsture. Pētījuma mērķis ir apkopot un analizēt pieejamo informāciju par bibliotēkas ēku, tās vēsturi un pārmaiņām laiku griežos, izvērtēt, kā šī informācija ir izmantojama bibliotēkas identitātes nostiprināšanā. Teorētisko bāzi veido aksioloģija un Informācijas pasauļu teorija. Datu ieguvei un analīzei izmantota Ainavas kultūrvēsturiskas lasīšanas metode. Pētījuma rezultāti apliecina, ka Jelgavas pilsētas bibliotēkas ēka un tās vēsture ir nozīmīgs un plašs naratīvs, kas, mērķtiecīgi izmantots, var nozīmīgi papildināt un bagātināt bibliotēkas kā organizācijas identitāti.

The title of This Master thesis is “The City Library of Jelgava, Academia street 26: Reading the Cultural Landscape”. The research subject of this study is the history of the building that houses the Jelgava City library. The aim of the research was to gather and analyze the accessible information about the building, its history and changes it has undergone with time passing to evaluate how this information could be applied to strengthen the local identity of the City Library of Jelgava. The theoretical background for this Master’s Thesis is axiology and Information world theory. Methods applied for collecting and analysis of data are Landscape reading method. Research showed that the history of library building is remarkable and a very broad narrative that could considerably complement in the building of the library’s identity as an important local organization.
