Spelling in English has always been quite complicated. Compounds are words which do not have a consistent spelling system, therefore, people write them differently. Thus, the aim of this paper is to analyse compounds in articles on marketing. Qualitative and quantitative analysis were used as the research method and the analysis were made of the compounds found in the articles on marketing from one British and one American marketing magazine. This study has shown that the most represented compound type is proper compounds and the most common spelling of compounds is to write them as one word or as solid compounds. The results of the research confirm that the spelling of compounds used in the articles on marketing varies among dictionaries, as well as, British and American English.
