Abstract

Akadēmiskais godīgums ir būtisks studiju procesa elements, un ir nepieciešams apzināt, kādi faktori ietekmē akadēmiskā negodīguma izplatīšanos, tāpēc autors bakalaura darbā “Akadēmiskais godīgums Latvijas Universitātes Sociālo zinātņu fakultātē” tiek apskatīta akadēmiskā godīguma izpratne un izplatība Latvijas Universitātes Sociālo Zinātņu fakultātē. Kā pētījuma teorētiskā bāze tiek izmantota racionālās izvēles teorija un Mišela Fuko panoptikuma koncepts, kas palīdzēs izprast studentu motivāciju rīkoties akadēmiski negodīgi. Pētījuma objekts ir Universitātes Sociālo zinātņu fakultātes bakalaura līmeņa studenti. Pētījuma priekšmets ir Latvijas Universitātes Sociālo zinātņu fakultātes bakalaura līmeņa studentu akadēmiskā negodīguma izpratne un rīcība. Pētījumā noskaidrota bakalaura līmeņa studentu akadēmiskā godīguma izpratne un akadēmiskā negodīguma izpausmes Latvijas Universitātes Sociālo Zinātņu fakultātē. Academic honesty, being a key element of any study process, is an important topic to deal with. This paper explores the issue of academic misconduct among the undergraduate students of the Faculty of Social Sciences of University of Latvia. The theoretical basis of this paper is the Rational Choice Theory and Michel Foucault’s concept of Panopticism, which will help to identify the reasons behind students’ motivation to commit academic fraud. The object of this research is the undergraduate students of the Faculty of Social Sciences of University of Latvia. The subject of this study is the said students’ understanding of the concept of academic honesty. During the course of this study, the author has gained insight in the comprehension of academic misconduct among the undergraduate students of the Faculty of Social Sciences of University of Latvia.
