Vispārējās nodarbinātības prasmju attīstības veicināšana studiju procesā augstskolā (Gruzijas gadījums)

Abstract

Jaunam absolventam vairs nav pietiekamas zināšanas par akadēmisko priekšmetu, jo mūsdienu izaicinošā pasaule ir izrādījusi, ka prasmju apgūšana arvien vairāk ir svarīga 21. gadsimta audzēkņiem, kuri, domājams, tiek attīstīti vienā īpašu kontekstu (mūsu gadījumā augstākās izglītības iestādēs), un pēc tam tos varētu pārveidot citās situācijās, piemēram, nodarbinātībā vai dzīvē kopumā. Tā kā sugas nodarbinātības prasmes (pārnesamas prasmes, vispārīgās prasmes, pamatprasmes, dzīves prasmes, 21. gadsimta iemaņas vai pamatprasmes), jo dažādie autori to dažādos veidos marķē, šajā rakstā tiek izmantotas "vispārējās nodarbinātības prasmes" ir būtiski, lai efektīvi veiktu ne tikai darba vietā, bet arī dzīvē AII būtu jāveicina tādu vispārējo prasmju attīstība, kas attiecas uz plašu disciplīnu spektru. Tāpēc dokumentā tiek ievērota šī definīcija. Nodarbinātības prasmes nozīmē to, ka ir pamatprasmes, kas ļauj sagatavoties nākotnes izaicinājumiem un mūžizglītībai, lai varētu darboties ne tikai darbavietā, bet arī dzīvē kopumā. Šajā rakstā ir divas nodaļas (pētījuma teorētiskās un praktiskās daļas). Teorētiskajā daļā tiek aplūkota koncepcija un vispārēja informācija par vispārējām nodarbināmības iemaņām, kā arī šo prasmju kopums, kopīga izpratne par ģenērisko nodarbinātības prasmju veicināšanu, augstskolu loma, veicinot mūsdienu izglītību, mūžizglītības tendence un izmaiņas tā piemērošanā Gruzijas augstākās izglītības jomā, savukārt praktiskajā daļā tiek analizēta Augstākās izglītības iestādes izpēte Gruzijā, kas veicina vispārējas nodarbinātības prasmes, pamatojoties uz pētījumu, kas veikts augstskolā starp dažādiem bakalaura studiju cikla studentiem fakultātē un humanitārās zinātnes, kā arī analizē intervijas, kuras iegūst no akadēmiķiem. Līdz ar to šajā dokumentā ir izcelts nosacījums, ka, pamatojoties uz lietu, Gruzijas augstskolā tiek veicināta vispārēju nodarbināmības prasmju attīstība, tā mērķis ir noteikt studentu un pasniedzēju uztveri par vispārējo nodarbināmības prasmju attīstības veicināšanu studiju procesā. Balstoties uz veiktajām kvalitatīvajām un kvantitatīvajām pētījumu metodēm, dokumentā ir parādīts, ka ir nepieciešams daudz vairāk koncentrēties un veicināt, lai studentiem attīstītu prasmes studiju procesā, jo iegūtie dati atklāja, ka konkrētas prasmes, piemēram, saziņa un sadarbība, kam seko komandas darbs, laiks vadība, lēmumu pieņemšanas prasmes tiek biežāk popularizētas un iekļautas studiju procesā, savukārt citās nozīmīgajās prasmēs, par kurām apspriests šis raksts, netiek pievērsta tik liela uzmanība no bakalaura cikla studentiem un akadēmiķu viedokļa.

It is no longer sufficient for a new graduate to only possess knowledge of an academic subject, since today’s challenging world has put forward that the acquisition of the skills are more and more vital for the 21st century learners, which are believed to be developed within one particular context (in our case in higher education institutions) and then they could be transformed in another situations, like employment or life in general. Since generic employability skills (transferable skills, generic skills, core skills, life skills, the 21st century skills or key skills, as they are labelled in various ways by different authors; in this paper ‘generic employability skills’ as the term is used) are crucial for effective performance not only in the workplace, but also in life, HEIs should promote the development of these general skills that are relevant to a broad range of disciplines. Therefore, the paper follows this definition- Employability skills implies having key skills which enables one to be prepared for the future challenges and lifelong learning, in order to be able to be active not only in the workplace, but also in life in general. The paper presents two chapters (the theoretical and the practical parts of the research). The theoretical part discusses concept and general information about generic employability skills, as well as, common range of these skills, shared understanding of importance of promoting generic employability skills, the role of HEIs in fostering them in today’s education, the lifelong learning tendency and the changes towards its application in Georgian higher education, while in the practical part, a case of a Higher Education Institution in Georgia promoting generic employability skills is analysed based on the survey conducted in a HEI among different Bachelor cycle course level students at the Faculty of Education and Humanities, as well as, it analysis the interviews obtained from academics. Consequently, this paper sheds light on the condition of promoting the development of generic employability skills in Georgian higher education institution based on a case, so that, it aims at determining the perceptions of students and lecturers concerning promoting generic employability skills development in study process. Based on carried out qualitative and quantitate research methods, the paper depicts that much more focus and promotion are needed to help students develop the skills in study process, as the obtained data revealed that the certain skills like communications and collaboration, followed by teamwork, time management, decision making skills are more often promoted and incorporated in the study process, while other also significant skills, discussed in this paper, are not given that much attention from the perspective of both Bachelor cycle students and academics.
