Darbs sastāv no 58 lpp, tajā ievietoti 16 attēli, 9 tabulas. Izmantoti 43 literatūras un informācijas avoti. The aim of the research is to determine the theoretical and empirical research of the possibilities of developing mathematical concepts for 3–4 year old children in play situations. In the theoretical part, in order to determine the physiological development of children, there were used G. Svence, J. Piaget, L.E. Berka, A.Vallona, D.Liegeniece and other authors' quotes. In order to study the mathematical concepts of 3–4 year old children and play situations, that were suitable for their promotion, were used the findings of M.Miklaev, L.Metlin, Zh.Kac, I.Pontagh, R.Ukstina and other authors'. In the empirical part were studied 3–4 year old children and the knowledge of how to create mathematical concepts with the help of play situations. Observational, verbal surveys as well as methods for processing qualitative and quantitative information were used. Based on child observation in play activities and daily activities, various simulations of play situations were developed and applied for mathematical concept development. In the practical part, the hypothesis was approved that the 3– 4 year old children's mathematical concept development in play situations will be more successful if the tasks set in the play situations are understandable and achievable for the child, the children's interests, level of development and current needs will be respected, the pedagogue participating in the play, achieving the child's emotional responsiveness, will indirectly direct the child's work to new knowledge. The study concluded that the use of different play situations can achieve children's emotional responsiveness and facilitate the formation of mathematical concepts. Purposeful organized play situations with a child¬– friendly goal promote motivation for further learning of mathematical concepts. The work consists of 58 pages, it contains 16 pictures, 9 tables.
