Kvalifikācijas darbā “Angļu valodas apguves veicināšana pirmsskolā četrus līdz sešus gadus veciem bērniem” aplūkota aktuālā teorija un prakse agrīnas svešvalodas apguves jomā. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt angļu valodas agrīnas apguves veicināšanu atbilstīgi mūsdienīgas un bērncentrētas mācību darbības principiem pirmsskolā. Darba teorētiskajā daļā autore pievēršas teorijām, kas skaidro bērna valodas attīstību un tās lomu agrīnā svešvalodas apguvē. Darba empīriskajā daļā autore analizē savu profesionālo pieredzē, ieviešot pirmsskolā virkni mūsdienīgu angļu valodas apguves metožu, novērtē sasniegtos rezultātus, aplūko darbā sastaptos izaicinājumus un sniedz priekšlikumus to pārvarēšanai. Pētījuma ietvaros autore sešus mēnešus vēro vairākas dažāda vecuma bērnu grupas, fiksējot kvalitatīvas izmaiņas bērnu angļu valodas zināšanās un prasmēs. Darbā iekļauta plaša informācija par pirmsskolas angļu valodas skolotāja ikdienas darbā izmantojamām efektīvām angļu valodas apguves metodēm. Kvalifikācijas darbam ir 90 lappuses, pieci attēli, sešas tabulas, 55 bibliogrāfiskas vienības, seši pielikumi. Atslēgas vārdi: pirmsskola, valodas attīstība, agrīna svešvalodas apguve, vecumposmam piemērota metodika, angļu valoda. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the author reviews leading theories that discuss the development of language in children and its influence on a child’s capacity to acquire a foreign language at a young age. In the empirical part of the thesis the author shares her experience in introducing a number of innovative teaching methods adapted for preschool, evaluates their efficacy, analyses the results achieved as well as ponders upon the encountered challenges and ways to overcome them. In the research part of the thesis the author details the process of teaching and observing three groups of children of various ages (four, five and six years of age) over a six months period, noting qualitative changes in the children’s English knowledge and skills.
