The work is devoted to the study of the impact of changes in the exchange rate of the pound sterling, caused by the processes associated with Brexit, on the foreign trade in the UK. Special attention is paid to the analysis of already existing studies on the impact of the exchange rate on the country's foreign trade, including examining both the classical approach to this theory and modern research in this direction. The work, using linear regression, provides a detailed analysis of the effect of the real effective exchange rate of the pound on the value of exports and imports of country in the short and long term. The regression results showed that the real effective exchange rate has a large impact on the country's exports and imports, however, the author concludes that changes in the UK exchange rate do not have a clear effect on the country's trade flows. Consequently, changes in the exchange rate of the pound, as a result of events related to the country's exit from the EU, will not change the volume of foreign trade in the country.
