There is an opinion, that visual art is a method that helps teachers collaborate and communicate with children, relives inspiration that is only categorised to creative work. (Anglides, Michaelidou, 2009). Nowadays, visual education is important for environmental factor. Seeing daily culture does not mean seeing only material and temporary values. Daily life of each human has emotional and physical experience, mentality, that exists in modern society. Being able to express your thoughts and emotions on paper is true happiness. Not everyone has this talent, although kids, particularly the youngest, draw a lot and feel free to do that. They are not worried about making mistakes. While drawing, children express their inner world and thoughts, which they are not able to express by words just yet. During development, there are changes in emotional development of the child too. His attitude and world perception changes. Child explores and learns to control his emotions, however his emotional sphere is not developing qualitatively. It needs to be trained and developed. It is desirable and recommended for teacher to take childrens’ mood into consideration when choosing games and activities. Some kids calm down when drawing by releasing negative emotions, others in visa versa express positivity. Author of the work considers that when teachers, parents and children are cooperating, then drawing skills develop faster and in more productive way. Research goal is to recognize emotional development of 3-4 year old practically and theoretically through visual art. All research tasks are focused on the process of achieving the goal and testing the hypothesis. Hypothetically, the author of the thesis suggests that 3- 4 years old childrens’ emotional development develops with the help of visual arts. Drawing also helps to detect whether there is a problem with emotional development, what causes it and, most importantly, helps child control his emotions. The first part of the work analyses thoughts and conclusions of teachers, educators and psychologists about emotions, emotional development and visual art as emotional response of kids. Based on theoretical knowledge, the possibilities of the emotional responsiveness of the youngest pre-school age children in visual art are studied, as well as criteria of evaluation of emotional development and indicators are developed. The second part describes the empirical research that revealed the assessment of the emotional development of children at the beginning and the end of studies. Keywords: preschool age, visual arts, emotional development, emotions.
