Reķe T. 2019. Ogres svītas nogulumiežu sastāvs, to veidošanās apstākļi un mugurkaulnieku atliekas Makšinavas un Gurovas gravas atsegumos. Bakalaura darbs. Rīga, Latvijas Universitāte, Ģeogrāfijas un Zemes zinātņu fakultāte. 78 lpp. No slīpo slānīšu azimutu mērījumiem var secināt, ka paleostraumju virzieni bijuši mainīgi. Mugurkaulnieku kompleksā konstatēti 12 taksoni; šis komplekss ir tipisks augšdevona drupiežu slāņkopām un kopumā ir līdzīgs Kurzemē atrastajam, bet atšķiras ar dažādvairodža Obruchevia heckeri klātbūtni Jauniegūtais bruņuzivs Walterilepis speciosa materiāls ļauj būtiski papildināt sugas aprakstu. Reke T. 2019. Structure, sedimentary environment and vertebrate fossils of the Upper Devonian Ogre Formation from the Makšinava and Gurova ravines. Bachelor thesis. Riga, University of Latvia, Faculty of Geography and Earth Sciences. 78 pp. The deposits and vertebrate fossils from the Upper Devonian Ogres Formation have been studied in the bachelor’s thesis. Geological sections were drawn up and samples of sandstone and fossils were collected during the fieldwork. A detailed grain size analysis of sandstone samples was made, and taxonomy of fossils was determined. By linking the results of sedimentologic and paleontological studies, the sedimentary environment, the ranges and diversity of the vertebrate taxa were clarified. The studied geological sections of the Ogres Formation were correlated with nearby geological drillings and reciprocal position was made. The effect of tidal processes on the sedimentation was identified only in the Gurovas ravine. From the measurements of azimuth it may be concluded that the direction of the paleo streams has been inconsistent. Vertebrate assemblage consisting of 12 taxa is typical for the Upper Devonian sandy deposits and has overall similarity to the assemblage from Kurzeme but differs by the presence ofheterostracan Obruchevia heckeri. The new material of the placoderm Walterilepis speciosa makes it possible to add the description of the species.
